Personal Film.
For almost a year now I have been fascinated (and terrified!) by the idea of shooting with film. There are so many different types of cameras, film, lenses, film/camera combinations, not to mention that you can’t see the photo moments after you take it…ahhhh! :) Finally, a few weeks ago the guys at my fave camera store (Perfect Image, here in Lancaster) found me a great little Canon AE-1 and gave me the full run down of which films I may like (I develop all of my images there, so they are familiar with my shooting style! I am soooo lucky to have such a great group to work with!) and how to use the camera itself. I shot the first roll in about a week and was terribly anxious to get back my scans. Would they even be exposed properly?! Would they all be blurry?! DID I EVEN LOAD THE FILM CORRECTLY?! I was a mess. The moment I got the call that the scans were back and my images printed, I scooped up the little boy, jumped in the car and drove to the shop. I certainly feel like I have a lot of learning and experimenting to do before I truly get these images exactly the way I would like, but for now, I am so happy that most turned out! I will periodically post some film scans and share what I am learning as I go! I would love to hear what any of you have to say about film and suggestions on how to improve!!! :)
An ice cream run in Maryland with Grande and Pops!
An ice cream run with Daddy! (Hey, summer is here so live it up! Even if you are only 1! :))
Here is the only (miraculously!!) blurry photo of the roll…I don’t hate it and don’t mind sharing my mistake! Manually focusing on a moving toddler requires skill I haven’t fully developed, ha!
Driveway art.
A night at the ballpark to cheer Daddy on!
And learn some skills while we are at it!
