Vendor Feature: Thistle & Bloom | A Lancaster County Florist
Today, I am moving in a slightly different direction and featuring a lovely friend of mine, Kristen of Thistle & Bloom! As a small business owner, I think that networking and supporting other small businesses is of the utmost importance and I hope to do these amazing arrangements and Kristen’s fantastic skill justice! :) An incredibly talented florist, Kristen is also wildly inspiring as she follows and pursues her dream of owning a floral arts company. In today’s feature, I will not only share images and information about these gorgeous arrangements, but also about their creator, as she is the soul and creative mind behind them!! In other words, her sweet disposition and lovely heart shines through her work and sets her business apart from the rest. Kristen, you are, in a word, JOY! I loved our evening together and hope to collaborate on some lovely weddings and events together soon! xo
A few words from the creator:
Thistle & Bloom is a small, sustainably-managed floral design studio tucked away in picturesque Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Our flowers are locally sourced (grown within 100 miles), providing you with the best, most unique seasonal blooms available while creating a sustainable business practice that supports our local farmers and economy.
Using locally-grown botanicals forces us to push the boundaries of design and find unique elements, creating a one of a kind look for each design and event. Creating arrangements with everything from flowers to fruits to grasses to seed pods, we find very little that grows is out of the realm of possibilities. We love texture and colors, embracing the variety that comes with the seasons. Each bouquet and arrangement is custom designed and tailored to fit your style and event while using these seasonal blooms and unique elements. Whether you are looking for something small and simple, or impressively magnanimous, we will create an eye-catching bouquet that brings your story to life.
This is the stunning Kristen! A joy to work with and talented beyond words!
The first bouquet of the evening was this jaw-dropping beauty, made simply of lavender and tied with an antique handkerchief.
I am certain its scent, simplicity, and beauty transported me to the fields France for a moment or two. :)
I mean, seriously. So gorgeous! I haven’t met a bride that wouldn’t swoon over a bouquet like this one!
Bouquet #2 is crafted from Asclepia, Gooseneck Loosestrife, and Queen Anne’s Lace. Again completed with a vintage handkerchief.
So dreamy!
Kristen’s work is never limited to hand-held bouquets, and she is incredibly talented at creating tabletop arrangements as well.
The arrangement above was put together using Sweet Peas, Yarrow, Mulberry Branches, Lavender, and Blue Cloud Larkspur.
I love the free-flowing, wildflower element to her work. So unique and lovely!
This copper arrangement is full of Celosia, Yarrow, Curly Willow, Vervain, Hydrangea, Blue Cloud Larkspur, and Morning Glory Vine.
Incredibly, all flowers were grown by flower farmers in Mount Joy and Conestoga, PA, with a few things found in Kristen’s backyard. (How amazing is she?! I so admire her creative spirit that sees beauty is what most consider to be the everyday.)
I am so excited to see Kristen and her amazing business grow, creating amazing floral art for brides and other lovely clients for years to come. Be sure to visit her website (Thistle & Bloom), like her on Facebook, and find her on Instagram (@ThistleandBloom) to keep up with all things lovely!
Happy day!
xo,
Mary
